You have listed both advantages and disadvantages in a rather clear way in the PPT. The narration is quite fluent and in detail. The similarities and differences are clear as well. Great job!
I used the Liulishuo in the past and you demonstrate the functions well. The PPT is quite clear and after watching the video I totally know the HelloTalk and Liulishuo. I want to try HelloTalk later!
I like idea of the HelloTalk as it is always my belief that speaking with native speakers is the most efficient way to practice the language. I just wonder why the app could attract native speaker to use, as basically they don't need to practice their own language?
Haha, actually it's kind of a matching between two parties. Let say there are two learners:
A: good at english, want to learn madarin B: good at madarin, want to learn english
Then in this case, A & B are the perfect match and they can learn their desired language from each other. But at this moment, most of the users are located in China, so most of them want to learn English. I guess they need to try harder to attract more foreign users.
Your video is very informative. I particularly like the parts on similarities, differences and improvements as they are clear. However, I think there is a little too much narration on the slides that introduce the apps. Thus, I suggest dividing the introduction into more parts so as to hold the audience’s attention.
What a great presentation you made!!! I like your illustration of these two similar apps, which gives me useful suggestion about using it. And actually, I prefer Liu Li Shuo, hahahah~
Thanks for introducing these two useful English vocabulary learning apps to us. I know 英语流利说but I never know Hellotalk before so now i have a comparison to see the similarity and difference between them then I can use them according to my real situation. Your interpretation is actually quite organized and clear, which allows me to know exactly about these 2 apps. And your video is made really nice. I like it!
I am interested in the two apps your group introduced. When you are introducing the UI/UX of HelloTalk, it is good that your group has included some photos in illustrating your point, and I do think that UI is attractive. As for 英语流利说, I was impressed by the technology used in this app (situational training with AI) which gives personalized and interactive course to learners. AI is one of the hot topics and is transforming the education industry. It is very nice of your group to include this app in your presentation. Also, the similarities and differences section is well-prepared and informative.
Thank you. I like your presentation so much. Your group generate the presentation in video format, it’s a easier way for me to access it through different device platform. The first impression is that I clearly know what 2 apps you are going to compare. Although you did not design some much slide to go through your presentation, I get a clearly understand in the flow of the presentation. Thanks Ronald, I recognize that it should be Ronald voice. The speed of narration is good for me, not too fast otherwise I can’t follow the content, and not too slow otherwise I would fall asleep. I have no idea in this 2 apps before. But after viewing this presentation video. I have a clear pictures on this 2 apps and get a brief understanding on the similarity and difference between 2 apps. Again, thank you very much.
I am wonder the helloTalk functions like connecting with over 100 native speakers of different languages and converting between text and voice. I found that this kind of exercise to compare different applications is really helpful to find out what are the different learning strategies they apply while designing a mobile application for education. For example, leaners want to learn language with native speaker or AI; learners learn with a real speaker to talk different topics or learn with AI in different designed scenarios. Those questions will be the indicators to analyse or design the application. On the other hand, based on the analysis of those different strategies, we may consider which application is suitable for teaching and learning in a specific situation.
You make a really good point. If you ask me, I would say they are targeting different kind of learners. For HelloTalk, you can connect with native speakers anc chat with them real time, not only you can learn a new language , but also makes some new friends. Of course one of the major drawback is that you or the native speakers may not be able to online at the same time. This can slower down your learning progress.
For the other one, with the use of AI, you can learn more effectively (though I'm not sure it works or not). But obviosuly one of the major drawback is the lack of interaction and real practise with real people.
That's why I would say both of them have their own advantages under a specific leanring environment
It’s a good job with clear explanation on the topic. The comparison of HelloTalk and ‘英語流利說’ about both the similarities and the difference is comprehensive. The suggested improvement is provided.
A reward scheme for encouragement can be introduced as it will be more interesting. If there is a membership system, more users can be attracted. The design of the icons and outlook can be changed, and it will be more user-friendly.
It is a very creative presentation way.Instead of the isolate Powerpoint, you insert the voice inside it, and it hears like you are stand in front of me.And I have advise for you, I hope you could add the subtitles. :)
You gave a really clear introduction to both of the language learning apps. I found “HelloTalk” to be a really interesting app. I was drawn to how it allows you to not only chat with different members, but helps you find language partners within your area. I feel that the interactive features does make it very useful in enhancing the language learning experience. I especially liked the function on how they could correct each other’s mistakes in their messages. I feel that this app’s interactive feature is what sets it apart from Liu Lo Shuo.
The topic is similar of our group that they know different view to mobile apps of e-learning. The ideas and content use by the video to explain , the video is clearly of information and ideas is easy to get. Overall, we know different apps of pros and cons.
Your presentation is excellent. You gave a introduction to the two apps so that people haven't used the apps (like me :) ) can get a better picture of them. The video makes me move more smoohtly forward to understand the similarities and differences of the two apps and select which one is more useful to me. Now I may choose one of them to have a try.
I really like the design and structure of your slides and the two apps are useful to people who want to learn and speak English. As our group also mentioned LiuLoShuo, I think the improvement part you suggested are more complete than our group's work. For example, you considered the advertisement as a disadvantage and should be avoided.
